ACTUAL CURRENT FORECAST: Zero percent chance they’re coming back right now, or will ever be interested in being told just about anything they need to know before, during or after they figure it out for themselves in their own time.

Come to think of it, I don’t think I was particularly in the market for being told what to do around the teenage years either 🤔.

Gosh. I’m thinking this is actually pretty LEGIT.

So, you know what I’m going to do now?

I’m just going to plant seeds, rather than worry about the forecast.

I’m even going to over-water the seeds, as needed.

Then… I’m going to get real busy… Waiting and watching.

No matter what I have to say, and really- (who are we kidding? I’ve got some serious epic G.O.A.T. stuff I could be offering)… maybe it’s just a wee bit too soon for now. For these few years of teenagering, I’m pretty sure they need to sort through quite a lot of this on their own, in the safe space we physically and metaphorically provide.

That’s what I’ve decided is the real J.O.B. To hold the safe space for them to figure themselves out, and LOVE LOVE LOVE them in every way…

VIBE CHECK and guide as needed… You know, when it HITS DIFFERENT.

FUTURE FORECAST will be 100% POURING UNCONDITIONAL LOVE ♥️ ALL DAY, EVERYDAY.

There will be a day they will come back and ask questions. At that point, they may be curious in a way that allows one to keep a conversation going longer than five seconds.

Until then, I will be patient… plant the seeds… light the fire.

So, I ended up in a rather funny conversation a few weeks ago.

Grades came out for last semester, and, since there is always room for improvement 🤪, I thought it would be smart to sit down and talk about the report. (I mean, that was the OLD ME talkin, but yeah, 🤪)

Of course, I was met with all the sighs, eye rolls, the huffs and puffs.

BRUH. I ALREADY DISCUSSED THIS. WHY DO WE NEED TO DISCUSS IT AGAIN?

Um- what? I looked around the room, bewildered. You already discussed this with- who? Me????

NO!!! MY FRIENDS BRO! WHAT ARE YOU EVEN TALKING ABOUT?

Ohhhhhh… Now, I’ve heard everything, and 😆 I thank you…

Of course, at that moment, things could’ve gone a few different ways, but I said:

So, okay… What exactly did you and your friends come up with?

THAT WE NEED TO STEP IT UP BECAUSE WE KNOW THESE GRADES COUNT… I KNOW WHAT I NEED TO DO, AND I AM WORKING ON IT ALREADY. I REALLY DO NOT NEED TO KEEP TALKING ABOUT IT ANYMORE. I AM JUST GOING TO DO IT.

Well, crap… That’s pretty much what I was going to say… (And A+, by the way, on getting right to the point in under five seconds. That was FIRE💥.)

You know, I’ve learned something else. The more I practice being chill and allow the growth to unfold naturally and in their own time, the less stress and anxiety exists!

Apparently, you’re not even supposed to plant the darn seeds that deep anyway.

TRUST. BRUH.

Haha… Alright, already… I got it… It’s NOT that deep.
